City Government
The City of Little Falls is a "Home Rule Charter" form of government with a "mayor-council plan". A charter is approved by the Little Falls voters and acts as the constitution for the community. Charter cities have the authority to exercise powers adopted in their locally adopted charter as long as it does not conflict with state law.
All policy decisions and legislative activities are the responsibility of the Mayor and City Council, but the administrative duties are delegated to the City Administrator. The City Administrator's primary functions are to direct the operations of City government and provide supervisory authority of all municipal departments.
