2018 Construction Projects 8th Street SE Reconstruction is well underway.  The utilities are completed and the contractor has started building the road.  We anticipate blacktop, curb & gutter in the next couple of weeks. Front Street/Wood Street: The contractor has begun utility work on this segment.  We the utilities lasting about a week and then they will begin building the road. 5th Street NW: The contractor is anticipating beginning 5th Street the week of June 4th with construction lasting about 3 weeks. 2017 Proposed Zoning Amendments

The City of Little Falls held a public hearing for the proposed chapter 11 zoning amendments.  In order for the zoning districts to compliment the proposed zoning amendments, another public hearing is scheduled for July 10th at 6:30 p.m. at the Little Falls City Hall to consider rezoning approximately 225 properties.  The following is a link to the existing zoning map, currentordinance, proposed zoning map, and proposed ordinance for your reference.

An Appliance, Electronics, Tire and Bulk Garbage collection for one and two family residential units within the City will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017, rain or shine. As in the past, you MUST preregister for this collection.  The forms will be in your utility bill going out on June 20 and must be returned by July 5, 2017.  Registered and paid items must be out at the curbside no later than 6:00 a.m.  The first item is paid for by the SCORE Grant the City received; with the second and subsequent items paid by resident at the costs indicated on the registration form....
Garbage Carts, Update 2

Update 2:  The City Council has completed negotiations with the garbage haulers for the new garbage cart program.  The carts have been ordered.  We estimate the carts to be delivered to residents in August.  We will notify residents of the day of pickup, where to place carts for collection and the hauler that will pick up your garbage.   If you are in need of garbage bags until the carts are delivered, you may purchase bags individually at City Hall.  The costs is $1.42 per bag.
2019 Trunk Highway 27 Reconstruction

A major road project is planned for Trunk Highway 27 in 2019.  The project will likely affect you, your business or your property, near Trunk Highway 27 in Little Falls. The 2019 road improvement project from west of 15th Street West to 9th Street East will address the need for upgrades and repairs to the road and infrastructure. Wabash National Corp. has purchased and plans to renovate a 53-acre manufacturing site – formerly Larson Boats – in Little Falls and use it to manufacture select parts for the semi-trailer and truck body market using a propriety molded structural composite (MSC) technology. Wabash National Corp. is a diversified industrial manufacturer and North America’s leading producer of semi-trailers and liquid transportation systems. It is headquartered in Lafayette, Ind. The Little Falls-based company manufactures and sells plastic outdoor products made with a process called rotomolding. New Brewery Coming to Little Falls

There will be a new brewery coming to Little Falls late this year.  The funding was closed for Starry Eyed Brewing Company on July 14th.  The business will be owned by Thomas Goebel Jr. and Kyle Kieffer and will be located next to the Farm Service Office at 16757 11th St. NE in Little Falls.  Both owners are excited to begin their new venture and Mr. Goebel has endless beer recipes and plan on growing some of their own hops at the site.  They will be having a tap house for people to come sample their brews and will work...

The new Sprout Food Hub and Growers and Makers Marketplace celebrated its grand opening, April 1 and 2, in the Little Falls Manufacturing Development Center. The former Crestliner plant now houses 23 businesses. The magnitude of the enterprise was underscored by the presence of U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, 8th District Rep. A lot of snow can be difficult to handle, we have to shovel driveways, sidewalks, mailboxes, fire hydrants, and even spots for our garbage cans. The automated side-arm tipper trucks need 3 feet on both sides of the can to be able to grab the can to pick it up and drop the trash.  If the truck's arm cannot reach around the can it may not get picked up that week.
